Piper Aviation Museum Board Moving Forward with Hangar Expansion Plans
The museum board of directors continues to move forward with plans to add a new 9600 sqft hangar addition to the rear of our building. This expansion will allow room to display between ten and fifteen (depending on the models) additional Piper aircraft. A local construction company has completed the design work and submitted a price. The board is now exploring all possibilities of fundraising to finance the project.
In the past three years, the Piper Aviation Museum has expanded its exhibit space by creating a 2,500 sq./ft. display room on the second floor. This enabled us to open over 4,000 sq./ft. on the first floor to showcase a variety of aircraft and artifacts. However, with five new aircraft donated recently and more expected, we have reached our capacity. The expansion will enable us to significantly expand our first floor space and provide additional capacity for suspended displays.
