The second annual Jeep Tour sponsored by the Piper Aviation Museum was held on Saturday Oct 7th. The day was beautiful with a temperature in the 80's. Twenty six Jeeps and over fifty participants left the Piper Aviation Museum parking lot at 9:00 am.

The planned route was 72 miles with a stop at the historic Farrandsville Iron Furnace. From there the group traveled on a number of dirt and sometimes very rugged roads to Hyner View where they had lunch. From Hyner View the group descended to the bottom of the mountain and connected with Hyner Park Road and then with Route 44 and back to Farransville Road and Lock Haven. One Jeep was disabled and had to make the trip back to Lock Haven by way of the Renovo Road. (Click For Google Earth Satellite View of route to and from Lock Haven)

The trip was scheduled to last 7 hours with the group returning to the museum at 4:00 pm. However with one disabled Jeep the cruise took an additional hour. A buffet dinner was served at the museum where the participants chatted about their adventure and toured the facility. A number said they would like to return next year.
